Immaculate EA Falcon S: 102,000ks, three owners and all original

Ford’s EA Falcon was generational leap for the nameplate, with various welcome improvements over the preceding XF.

The EA saw the introduction of Ford’s new fuel injected 3.2lt and 3.9lt single-cam fuel-injected sixes; and were packaged with improved "variable assist" power steering, four-wheel disc brakes and new front suspension.

It’s said that Ford invested over $700 million in the development of the EA, however initial teething issues propelled rumours of a product rushed-to-market.

They haven’t quite gained the desirability that Holdens of the equivalent era have, nor that of earlier Falcons when there were the same age. But, the good thing is, they’re cheap to step into – and as this example shows, there are some good ones out there!

This 1988 EA Falcon presents, amazingly, stock as a rock and very original! It appears to be an S-pack given the red trim and snowflake wheels.

The listing states that the car has had just three owners over its 30 year life and currently shows just 102,000kms on the odometer.

The interior is immaculate, and the exterior is remarkably intact and shows just minor fading from age to the plastic trim up front and to the headlights.

It’s fitted with the 3.9lt injected six (it looks like a carby, but that’s actually the throttle body injection under there) and factory five-speed manual gearbox, still wearing its factory wheels which are reportedly free of rash and scrapes.

It’s all there, and the seller says "everything works". Coming with log books and original keys, it’s quite a find in this condition!

The EA is based in Queensland and is listed for $6,500.
