Ferrari heads up tonight's Shannons auction
Big mix of local and international cars
Tonights Shannons Sydney auction has a fascinating mix of metal on offer, including mainstream Australian collectibles, a big group of desirable Euros and some very unusual offerings.
Headlining the selection is a nicely-optioned 1972 246 GT Dino Ferrari, which was originally delivered in right-hand drive as a UK car and has since had three long-term owners in Tasmania.
Running the 2.4lt V6, the car is said to have a substantial paint and bodywork freshen-up and carries an estimate of $480-540k.
Top of our quirky list is the 1960 Autobiachi Bianchina Transformabile, which uses a Fiat 500 platform. Produced in Italy, these were not well-known in Australia and there would be very few running around. The estimate is $25-35k.
We highlighted the Ford Falcon Redback - a dealer special - a little while ago. It's a 1978 XC GS Rally Pack with 4.9lt V8 and C4 auto. That's carrying an estimate of $30-40k.
The next lot has a lot of appeal, too. It's a 1972 VH 770 Charger running the 265ci six and three-speed manual. Shannons suggests it will fetch in the $50-60k range.
See all the lots here - the auction begins at 7.00pm.
