An example of the Back to the Future hero car on the market
It's a constant source of amazement to many of us in the palatial Unique Cars mag offices, that the whole Back to the Future phenomenon continues to drive such huge interest in Deloreans, decades after the first movie was released.
As a car in its own right, the DMC-12 is unquestionably a fascinating piece of work that well and truly deserves its burgeoning classic status.
The triple-layer construction of chassis-fibreglass tub-stainless steel sheetmetal alone is worth of interest. So too are the rear-mount engine and its party trick - the gullwing doors.
Local owners reckon there are about 100 in the country and this example is owned by a long-time enthusiast who bought one as his first car.
