Ford XY Falcon 500 – Today’s Tempter
Very clean Jewel Green XY: 302, auto, fully serviced
Everyone loves an XY; and while we’re used to seeing them dressed to the nines, disguised in GT stripes and shaker bonnets – recently it’s been the non-GT family models that have generated most of the collector interest.
This XY Falcon 500 looks to be one of those desirable well-kept examples.
It presents in a great colour combo; resprayed in its original Jewel Green hue (confirmed by build plate), with Saddle interior and with optional bucket seats. It’s finished with five slots, a new chin spoiler and GS stripes.
It’s currently fitted with a 302 Cleveland coupled to a three-speed Cruise-O-matic auto, and is said to have been fully serviced and ready to drive.
It appears to be in fantastic condition throughout; with a spotless engine bay, clean interior and deep lustre in its paint.
It may not be an entirely original car- as the built plate’s L-engine code implies it was factory delivered as a 250ci six: but let’s be honest – if we owned this handsome early Falcon, we wouldn’t care.
It looks to be in stunning condition, and if it’s as good as it looks in the photos – its new owner should get plenty of miles and smiles out of it for years to come.
The car is based in Victoria, and is listed for $48,000.
