Nearly 1000 Porsches gathered at the National Motor Museum in the South of England

Nine hundred and eighty five Porsches and almost 2000 participants celebrated the German marque at the Simply Porsche event held at the National Motor Museum in the south of England.

The seventh Simply Porsche was packed with variety, as Porsches old and new took their places in the showground taking fans on a journey through the marque’s motoring history.

On display were several examples of the pioneering 356 and classic 912, Targa top 911 T and the first of the 911 Turbos from the early 1980s. Also figuring were the front-engined 944 right up to the latest 718 Boxster, GT3 RS, 911 Carrera S and Panamera.

Stealing the limelight was the 1969 Porsche 917K that starred in the Steve McQueen film Le Mans.

A Porsche 997 turned heads in its Rothmans livery, having been built to celebrate Porsche’s 935 endurance racers that competed at Le Mans.

Visitors and participants voted for their favourite car of the show in the People’s Choice Awards with the overall winner Simon Borg from Bristol and his immaculate 1996 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 roadster.
