Monaro CV8-Z + Shelby Cobra Replica + Mazda R100 - Auction Action 425

2005 Holden Monaro CV8-Z
Sold: $67,000
Shannons
Righto, I'll stop plugging the virutes of Holden's CV8 Monaro after this one, which is one of the last of the breed. This clean-as-a whistle one-owner, manual CV8-Z with 17,286 km on it from new, was sold with a full history, including all purchase documentation and service books. It was deliverd new in Nowra NSW in September 2005 and forms part of an extensive collection. 0As evidenced by its kilometres, it has only been driven sparingly and no modifications or accessories have been fitted.
1970 Mazda R100 Familia coupe
Sold: $91,709
Graysonline
This is where the whole rotary story started at Mazda with the R100 selling locally for similar coin to a Valiant Pacer. This is a rather exceptional find having travelled just 82,584 in in 49 years according to the odometer and it has a manual gearbox. Importantly it comes with an owner's manual, service history and appears to be complete and original.

1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
Sold: $70,000
Shannons
Desirable 'stepnose' Alfa that has been with the one owner for the past 16 years, travelling just 7000 miles. Early this century the Alfa underwent a rebuild having already received the Veloce parts including glass, interior and running gear. It was stripped back to bare metal and repainted in 2017/2018, getting a myriad of new components, giving it an as-new appearance.
1966 Shelby Cobra replica
Sold: $56,809
Graysonline
There is no other car like the Shelby Cobra. Fast, powerful and guaranteed to get your attention with the slightest graze of the loud pedal. This one even more so with a stroked 420 V8 bolted to a T-10 manual. Finished in a stunning deep blue with a black interior this land missile has travelled a mere 25,467 miles. Part of its life has been competing in tarmac rally events including outings in the Targa Tasmania and the Geelong Speed Trials both of which I am certain Mr Shelby would approve of.
On the block:
Mercedes-Benz 500 TE AMG
RM Sotheby's
11-12 April 2019
Estimate $103,000-$111,000
Long before it became the official one-stop hot-up shop for Benz, AMG was throwing all manner of go-fast goodies at all things with a three-pointed star. An example is this this once-innocent W123 family hauler that now sports a ballistic 5-litre V8 along with a wicked body kit, fat tyres, a lowered stance and cream leather upholstery to contrast with the black exterior. As subtle as a punch in the head, this blunt nose beauty is designed to cover vast distances quickly while comfortably carting up to seven. It has recently been given a nip and tuck and also starred in America’s Top Gear program.
