The partnership underscores the Australian launch of the Ferrari Classiche certification program

The inaugural Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance has found a strong ally in its recently-announced partnership with Ferrari Australasia.

When the event takes place at Lindesay House, Darling Point, March 8 & 9; Ferrari will be bringing some serious metal to the party.

Along with the stable of 29 rare and collectable Veteran, Edwardian, Vintage, Classic and Modern Classic cars taking part – Ferrari Australiasia will be digging out a 1960 Ferrari 250 Pininfarina Coupe, a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS and a 1987 Ferrari F40 to display; the first time in Australia that these cars will be seen together.

Herbert Appleroth, Ferraru Australasia CEO, said the: "Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance is a much-overdue event for the Australian market".

The inaugural event will "introduce motoring authorities and enthusiasts to the time honoured tradition of collecting and a unique insight into the motoring world’s rich history" continued Appleroth.

Other concours events such as Motorclassica have a long established history and consistently shine a light on many of Australia’s world-class cars; the Sydney Harbour Concours’ d’Elegance – a purported "first of its nature for Australia" – seeks to break new ground for Australian enthusiasts. Its name harks to long-standing European events such as the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The event is the brainchild of journalist and classic car consultant James Nicholls, who believes that interest in classic car collecting will only grow further.

"I expect in years to come many of the world’s most iconic motor vehicles ever made will end up in Australia, in part due to the growth of wealth here and out expansive roadways" says Nicholls.

Ferrari’s partnership with the 2019 Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance underscores its continued interest and support for the increase demand within classic Ferrari models.

Ferrari Classiche, Ferrari’s in-house historical, servicing and restoration arm will be launching locally in Victoria and New South Wales this year.
