1978 Ford Falcon XC coupe - today's tempter
Modified muscle
Ford Falcon coupes of this era have gone from hero to zero and back to hero again over their 40-year lifespan. Now they're very much in demand.
Of course there is an ongoing debate about whether you should painstakingly take a car back to original, or build it as a tribute of a glamour model, or go the full street machine route.
That's very much down to personal taste, and the owner of this car has wandered down the street machine path.
However the paint and general appearance is very much in keeping with the era, despite the obvious upgrades.
This one started life as a 1978 car with 351 powerplant and auto transmission. It's since had a four-speed manual fitted.
More significantly, the engine has undergone a comprehensive revision and no doubt pumps out a whole lot more power than it left the factory with.
The owner also had the sense to upgrade the brakes while they were at it.
Located in Perth, it's priced at $93,990.
