57,000 miles from new and immaculate condition

Naturally, between maintaining our own classifieds, and writing about old cars – we spend a lot of time browsing cars for sale.

It can be taunting at times, as there’s very few of them we could dream of buying, but it’s always fun to see what rare finds are out there.

Last week, we shared with you a remarkably original Australian-delivered 1974 Mazda RX-3, which you folks seemed to like!

So here’s another gem we found on the old trusty eBay.

We found this Australian-delivered 1971 Datsun 240Z in original and immaculate condition, with Nissan’s twin side draught carburetted 2.4lt inline-six L24 motor and manual transmission.

The listing states that the car is in excellent condition, with just 57,000 miles on it since new, and it looks spotless inside and out.

The car has been part of a private collection for some time now, and sure looks it!

The car is in full running condition with the car receiving a body, paint and interior restoration approximately six years ago, along with a rebuilt engine head.

The car comes with original user manual, service book with service history and a folder of receipts.

Datsun 240Zs are the pick of the litter in terms of classic Z cars, and are highly sought after in the burgeoning Japanese classic scene. Ostensibly, they're one of the greatest silhouettes ever born from the east.

They’re DIY friendly to the at-home wrencher, and up to now have remained a pretty affordable way into classic coupe ownership. The tide may be turning however, with Hagerty reporting significant year-on-year search volume and interest, with values jumping since 2015.

This car is on sale via a dealer in Southport Queensland, the current bid stands at a hefty $79,000, with a full 20 days left on the auction.
