1975 Torana SL/R5000 - today's muscle tempter
Torana SL/R5000

Even back when this thing was new, and SL/R5000 really stood out from the crowd.

The relatively simple three-box shape may not look exceptional, but the lairy paint and the roar from the bent eight engine ensured you'd get noticed. That wasn't always a good thing!

We're of course talking an LH Torana platform, which was a reaonably substantial car and soon got a reputation for being a halfway decent thing on the road.

In addition to being very useable, it also happened to be relatively light on the wallet when it came to servicing, as there was nothing terribly complex or exotic about it.

This is an interesting example - it's not often you come across one in the Satin Mist silver.

The owner says the L34 flares were fitted by the factory.

Apparently it was restored around nine years ago and hasn't done a lot of work since - which would have a lot of appeal if you were looking for a turn-key muscle car.

It's priced at $115,000 and is located in WA.
