Nissan’s R31-generation Skyline arrived in 1986, and was loosely underpinned by the C32 Laurel.

Design-wise, it was an evolution of the previous R30, but larger and squarer.

Available in sedan, coupe and station wagon body styles, the R31 debuted the venerable line of "RB" Nissan inline-six engines.

R31 Skylines were locally built once upon a time – and uniquely gained a 3.0lt RB30 engine while overseas markets made do with smaller 2.0lt units.

ADM models could be identified by the taillights, as they lacked the iconic quad "stovetop"  lights and instead utilised housings from the Pintara.

This 1987 Nissan Skyline R31 presents in mid-spec GXE trim, which gained air-conditioning, cloth trim, four-speaker radio cassette system and a remote boot release.

It looks like it’s in great condition for its age, only having travelled 176,300kms in its 31 years on the road.

The listing states that the car is "very well maintained", and has undergone a recent service and check over plus near-new tyres on its aftermarket wheels.

It belonged to an elderly owner who is no longer driving.

The car is based in Coffs Harbour, and is listed for $4,950.
