1983 Knight Industries Two Thousand – Today’s Tempter

Children of the 80s had their imaginations captured by the crime fighting duo consisting of one David Hasselhoff, and one tech-laden talking car named KITT.

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning your own Knight Industries Two Thousand, now’s your chance!

Fully compliance and currently registered, this 1983 Pontiac Firebird was reportedly found in air-conditioned dry storage where it sat for 20 years.

Original matching number, with correct 5.0lt injected V8, the car reportedly had just 15,000 miles on it when found.

The seller states this replica version of KITT is based off its appearance in Season 2 of Knight Rider. They claim it’s just one of four right-hand drive models in the world, and has been comprehensively overhauled to an exacting replica – yes, he even talks.

As per Season 2 guise, the interior has two functioning TV Screens with an on-board computer controlling true and correct graphics; along with a whole new interior that’s been reupholstered in "Knight Rider fabric".

All instruments in the dash are perfectly functional, and the speedo has been converted to display units in kilometres per hour.

As far as we can tell – the car looks true to the show down to the details. The dash is fully KITT-ed out (pun intended) with an array of LEDs and switchgear.

The car possesses correct Australian compliance plates, and is currently registered in South Australia where it is based.

The car is on offer for $55,000, with the seller claiming the cost of the build to total over $60,000.
