The Mercedes-Benz W110 was produced over two series; the first from 1961 to 1965, and the second production series – from 1965 to 1968.

The W110 series was Benz’s midsized entry-level offering at the time, with the first series powered by either a 1.9lt inline-four petrol or a 2.0lt inline-four diesel.

The second production series of 1965 consisted of three entirely different engine choices: two 2.0lt inline-four petrols and a 2.3lt inline-six.

The W110 is commonly regarded as a very early relative of Benz’s E-Class family, and is lauded for its design as one of Mercedes-Benz’s ‘fintail’ cars.

This 1963 Mercedes-Benz 190C is fitted with the 1.9lt petrol engine, mated to a four-speed manual.

It sounds like a true survivor car, with excellent history and documentation.

The current owner reportedly purchased the car from the little Finny’s original owner in 2003, and states that the car has been garaged ever since.

The car has covered 360,000 miles in its 55 years of life, and boasts 50 consecutive years of documented servicing from official Mercedes Star Motors (with no less than four service books to show for it).

The car includes its original tool kit and its original 1964 registration documents. Its seller claims that it "runs like a clock", shift action is good and that he will include a brand new exhaust that was imported from Germany but is not currently fitted to the car.

Oil pressure is "great" and the radiator has just been cleaned.

Overall, the car presents in good original condition for its age; the paint looks good, though the brightwork could do with a polish. It could be preserved as a survivor, or could be a great base for a restoration.

The car is located in Broome, Western Australia; and is listed for $9,000.
