Within the expansive Skyline family, the R33 sedan is traditionally one of the least sought after models.

Most young enthusiasts were attracted to manual two-door coupes, and many mid-spec single turbo GTS-T models fell to the fate of ludicrous fibreglass body kits and skittle-coloured resprays throughout the 2000’s show car era.

That does mean, however, that there are a surprising number of clean and relatively untouched sedans, especially in automatic-guise such as this.

It’s a 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T, a rear-driven single turbo 2.5lt inline-six with four-wheel steering, and just 136,000kms on the odometer.

The seller states that the car has been his daily for the past three years, but now his kids have outgrown the back seat. The car is largely original, save for a few slight engine modifications, aftermarket Volk Racing wheels, shocks and a speaker upgrade in the cabin. Many other parts have been replaced but most look to be original replacement maintenance parts such as: water pump, timing belt, bearings and vacuum lines.

Overall, the car looks very tidy and near true to factory. The seller stipulates that there is a small scratch/dent on the rear passenger quarter, however the rest of the body is excellent. The Air-conditioning also needs to be re-gassed according to the listing.

Overall, the stereotype of cheap thrashed non-GTR Skylines is rather unapparent in this case – furthermore the automatic gearbox has us a little more inclined to believe the car was used as a mere runabout and not as a cheap skid machine.

The seller is definitely an enthusiast, and as Japanese performance cars gain in popularity as younger generations find the means to become collectors, this car reflects a neat and useable modern-classic sedan with a splash of performance for those Sunday drives.

The car is based in the ACT and is listed for $8,000, you can check out the full listing here!
