The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow arrived in 1965, and was the first car for the marque to utilise a unitary body and chassis method of production.

The Silver Shadow II arrived 12 years later in 1977, with a change in model nomenclature to further distinguish the updated model which brought with it a number of updates and changes.

Most notable of the updates was the inclusion of rack and pinion steering and revised front suspension for an overall better handling vehicle.

The Silver Shadows were powered by a gargantuan V8, measuring 6.2lt in displacement from 1965 to 1969, and growing in displacement to 6.75lt from 1970 onwards.

Only automatic gearboxes were offered, with most vehicles bearing a three-speed THM 400 but a four-speed Hydramatic available in the UK market from 1965-1970.

This Silver Shadow II was originally a UK-delivered car, hand built in 1977 - the car’s history can be traced back to its original dealership in Worcestershire.

With the larger 6.75lt V8 and Hydramatic auto, the car is well equipped and looks to be in great condition for her age.

With air conditioning, power windows power seats and cruise control (which is currently disconnected), the car is a time-capsule of late 70s luxury.

The car comes with original tool box, jack and manual, as well as a very comprehensive compendium of service and maintenance records and history.

The ad looks well written and the car seems to come from a loving owner.

For $32,000 you’d be hard-pressed to find a more luxurious classic for your dollar. Of course, you might need to budget a little more for servicing and maintenance but from where we’re sitting – it looks like an absolute peach!

The car is based in New South Wales, and you can check out the full listing here!
