The Mark II Ford Cortina arrived in 1966, and remained in production until 1970.

It was roomier inside, and a markedly more modern exercise in design on the outside.

It boasted a smaller turning circle than the Mark I, softer suspension and a new 1300cc engine available to some markets.

Body styles available were a two our four-door saloon, as well as a five-door station wagon, with a swather of inline-four engines on offer throughout production.

This 1968 Ford Cortina is fitted with one of the larger 1600cc units, with the listing indicating that the car is fitted with an automatic gearbox – likely a three-speed.

The seller is light on details within the listing, however – there looks like lots of potential here for someone to nab a cheap and cheerful classic.

This 1968 Cortina has had just one owner from new, and has reportedly been garaged since new, 50 years ago.

The car comes with original plates, and service and repair manual.

The car has 99870 miles indicated in the listing.

From the few photos attached to the listing, the car looks incredibly tidy for its age, and at $8,990 – offers a very affordable way into classic car ownership.

The car is based in South Australia, and you can check out the full listing here!
