The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII arrived in 2003, as a redesign of the preceding Evo VII.

With new front and rear fascias, mechanical upgrades included a new six-speed gearbox, updated active yaw control system, brembo brakes and bilstein shocks.

The 2.0lt turbocharged four-pot now made a slightly improved 206kW in standard trim, though some international markets received more powerful special editions boasting up to 302kW.

Their common rival of the time was none other than the Subaru WRX STi, though later-model Evos were much more unforgiving on the road than their pleiades-laden rivals – who had grown soft in their younger age.

Overwhelmingly popular amongst modifiers, it’s rare to find late-model Evos such as this in factory condition.

This 2003 Evo VIII has just arrived at Bespoke Motors in Melbourne, from Japan.

The listing states the car to be low mileage, and with full service history.

In complete factory setting, the car bears no modifications and no rust.

It’s a capable performance car, than can still hold its own today.
