The air-cooled Porsche craze has been nothing short of astounding.

Few other cars in recent memory have appreciated so rapidly, and it’s a shame as these simply great cars are now out of reach for many car lovers.

The 964 was one of the first models to explode, and is often looked at as the perfect midpoint of the 911 lineage. It still gives the bare-boned white-knuckled driving experience, but was a massive technological advancement over the previous 911.

It was the first Porsche model to be offered with an AWD layout, with substantially revised suspension, with new shocks and coil springs replacing the old torsion bars system. Power steering and ABS were also new additions, as was an active electric rear spoiler. The 964 was also the first Porsche model to be offered with a tiptronic automatic, as a four-speed. Though you had to get the five-speed manual.

At a base level, the 964 911 was fitted with a 3.6lt naturally aspirated flat-six engine, with 3.3lt and 3.6lt turbo variants being introduced throughout the models life-cycle.

Definite premiums must be paid for 964s in manual-guise, with tiptronic autos being significantly more affordable and less desirable.

Most are well above the six-figure mark, yet this one slides in at $87,500.

Likely due to it having slightly higher kilometres than most on the market – 206,496 indicated.

Still, check it out, it comes with books and comprehensive service history. You could be on to a winner!

The car is available via The Healey Factory in Melbourne, you can check out the full listing here!
