1960 Holden FB Utility – Today’s Tempter
Original odometer reads 16,916 | This is a true time warp car!
While fleeting, the FB Holden was a marked improvement over the preceding FC.
Produced for just one year, 1960-1961, the FB was the successor to the FC range and was available as either a four-door sedan, station wagon, or two-door panel van or utility.
It was a bigger and more spacious, and changes over the FC were made to; brakes, front coil springs, air cleaner and clutch. It had a lower bonnet and new tail lights, with the cabin gaining a new Americana style dashboard.
This FB Ute has received a full body restoration, finished in pastel blue and new chrome work and hubs. It presents impeccably, like many cars from the Gosford Museum do. Inside, the original odometer reads just 16,916kms and the upholstery looks equally restored and faultless as the exterior duco.
The engine bay appears to be in its original state, occupied by a 2.2lt inline-six mated to a three-speed manual transmission.
The car will include the correct spare wheel, bottle jack, wheel brace and generator.
It’s a historic car, and likely one of the best-kept examples you could get.
The FB Ute is available via the Gosford Car Museum in NSW, and is listed for $35,000.
