The Alfa Romeo Spider was enduring to say the least; produced from 1966 all the way up to 1993, the car underwent only minor visual and mechanical changes throughout its near-30 years of production.

The Series II was one of the first three Series, assembled by Pininfarina in Grugliasco Italy.

Visually, the Series II Spider gained a squarer rear end to improve luggage space, and larger impact-absorbing bumpers, along with new grille, door handles, a more steeply raked windscreen and top-hinged pedals and improved interior trim.

Engine options consisted of a variety of peppy twin-cam inline four-cylinders, ranging from 1.3lts, through 1.6lt and 1.8lts, with the range-topper being the 2.0lt unit.

The sole transmission offering was a five-speed manual.

This 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider represents a great example of the enduring classic roadster.

These cars are much loved and celebrated the world over by drivers and collectors.

The ad does not state which engine sits under the bonnet, however the Iniezione (denoting mechanical fuel injection) badge on the rear implies the presence of a 2.0lt unit.

Finished in the classically desired combo of black paint over red interior, the car presents well with 52501 miles on the odometer.

The car is available via Autovintage cars in Victoria, and is listed for $29,000.
