1970 Volkswagen Beetle – Today’s Tempter
Anyone after a Beetle project? Check out this honest little car
The Volkswagen Beetle was arguably, one of the singular most important cars in history.
Dubbed "the people’s car", it made personal mobility attainable for generations around the world.
Simple and bulletproof engineering, coupled with equally simple maintenance – the Beetle’s real party trick was the ability to carry four people with ease and reliability.
The 1970 Beetle here is finished in a charming red-and-cream two tone paint scheme and, according to the listing, has 78269 miles on the odometer.
Unfortunately details are sparse within the ad, but it seems to be a genuinely well-loved car that appears to have been looked after.
The rear badge implies there being a 1.5lt flat-four engine behind the rear lid; and inside the cabin looks to be largely original except for the modern radio head unit.
Overall, the car appears to be in good and honest condition – and could be the perfect base for those wanting to undertake a little project.
It all looks to be there, and with a bit of a clean-up and refresh – this 1970 Bug would make for an awesome summer cruiser.
The car is based in New South Wales, and is listed for $15,500.
