Mad Max slot car + Instrument resto + Holden Tail Tent - Gearbox 414
Our favourite auto gear & gadgets this month...
1 Mad Max XB Interceptor slot car
Righto all you Mad Max tragics, it’s time to whip out the credit card and get yourself the matte black XB Interceptor. It’s got all the gear on it as in the movie, including two large fuel tanks on the back, a blue siren on the dash plus the spare wheel and jerry can.
It’s even covered in a weathered finish from the rough roads of the post-apocalyptic world it inhabits. Don’t have a track? Swipe the card again and get one to drive the Interceptor on .
2. Lionel Otto Instruments
Imagine completing a resto and not replacing, restoring or repairing the faded, ill-working gauges. Shame on you. Lionel Otto Instuments has been around since 1960 and specialises in the resto and repairs to Smiths Chronometric and magnetic instruments as well as AC, Jaeger, VDO, Motometer, Veglia, Nippon Denso, Nippon Seiki and Yazaki gauges to suit virtually all makes and models. Speedos, tachos, fuel and temp gauges. They’ve got the lot, plus cables, sensors and sender units.
3. Original print design t-shirts, tanks & hoodies
From Astons to Vee Dubs and everything in between. Here’s a chance to show everyone what your favourite set of wheels is.
These high quality and orignal print designs are placed on top shelf tee shirts, tank tops and hoodies and come in a range of sizes and colours. And if you want, you can create your own design and have it printed. Better still, why not slap your own car on a garment and wear what you drive.
4. Modern Classic Cars range
Own a classic MGB or Sprite and need some parts? Modern Classic Cars can help with everything from a brake hose to a full rebuild and much more.
Their product range is designed to enhance, refine and improve the orignal car for a better driving experience. Suspension, transmission, cooling, driveline parts and wheels are all available – like these 15"x6" D-type alloy replica wheels with a bolt on or spline fit.
5. VK Group A SS cap
The limited edition VK SS Group A cap is from a strictly limited batch of just 100 units. The cap, made of cotton and mesh, features an embroidered patch depicting the HDT VK Group A SS decal celebrating the 1982, 83 and 84 Bathurst victories by the King of the Mountain, Peter Brock. The caps are finished in the red, white and black of the HDT race cars of the day and are just one of the many items of merchandise available from HDT.
6. Vantails
Night-time naughtiness in a panel van is as Australian as a meat pie. Back in the day Holden sold a tail tent, which looked like a condom over the tailgate, but acted like an extension to a house. The idea being it gave you more room and privacy for your horizontal calisthenics or sleeping, or both.
Now they’re back, thanks to Torana parts. The tail tent comes complete with a carry bag, hooks, rings, fits all Holden panel vans from HQ to WB and can easily be fitted in 10 minutes.
