In decent nick and a good base for a project

The HZ was the penultimate iteration of the HQ platform, and the Statesman nameplate at the time was a standalone marque with no mention of "Holden. The Statesman was GM-H’s flagship for the time, marketed upon increased comfort, interior room and luxuries.

Engine choices ranged from a 3.3lt inline-6 and a 4.2lt and 5.0lt V8s.

The HZ replaced the previous HX in 1977, and received a minor facelift on the outside, but numerous innovations for the range underneath.

New features gained in the HZ included Radial Tuned Suspension and disc brakes at all corners.

This HZ Stato features the 5.0lt (308ci) V8, and presents itself in resprayed original factory colour: Bordeaux Metallic under white vinyl roof. The seller claims the car has been owned by one family for most of its life.

The car is fitted with a T400 transmission, air conditioning and power steering.

The interior looks to be in fantastic condition, with no tears or staining in the white leather seats. The black dashboard looks to be in similar pristine condition.

The car has reportedly undergone a doors-closed respray in 2010, however has 4-5 matchhead-sized bubbles around the car. The seller claims there is no rust under the original vinyl roof, in floors or in any structural areas; and was mainly rust-free when resprayed.

At $19,000, the car is in great driving condition, and looks the part in photos. With a little love and care, the car looks able to be enjoyed long into the future, and could be a great basis for a project.

The car is located in Victoria, and you can check out the full listing here!
