Simcoe designed, and made in Australia.

Say "Australian made car" and the mind will instantly jump to the last century of Holden and Fords but Elfin is a brand that’s just as significant.

With a rich history of motorsports both here and in New Zealand, the Elfin brand was born out of the instant success its race cars found from the early 60s onwards.

With five Australian Sports Car Titles, and championships across Formula Ford, Formula 2, Formula Junior and Formula 5000, Elfin’s racing efforts were halted by the sudden passing of its founder, Garrie Cooper, in 1982.

In 1997, the company was sold – with plans to begin making cars again.  In 2004, Walkinshaw Performance agreed to supply engines and assist with engineering, then designs from Mike Simcoe himself saw the road cars – the Clubman and Streamliner – come to life.

The MS8 Streamliner was first introduced in 2006 and featured a 5.7lt LS1 mated to a 6-speed Tremec.

Contrasting the open-wheel Clubman, the more user-friendly Streamliner featured comforts such as air-conditioning, cruise-control, leather interior… and doors.

This 2008 MS8 Streamliner, presented here in a loud orange hue, over black wheels and with black leather interior is extremely low kilometres – with only 26,000kms posted.

This boutique race car inspired roadster embodies a unique and niche representation of Australian car making history, and with a V8 up front and such a Spartan driving experience, it should be a barrel of fun too!

The car is listed at $69,000 and you can check out the full listing here!
