Features high-profile names such as Garland and Bates

Thanks to a little co-operation between rally nuts in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales, a new classic rally series will fire up from April 14.

Called the East Coast Classic Rally Series, it's primarily run by Rally NSW.

The events are:

14 April

2018 Singleton Automotive Centre Caves Classic Rally

5 May

2018 Mitta Mountain Rally

14-15 July

2018 Border Ranges Rally

11 Aug

2018 AMH Automotive Group Rally of the Bay

22 Sep

2018 Bathurst Rally

20 Oct

2018 Monaro Stages

Some high-profile rally names are expected to compete, including Bruce Garland and Neal Bates.

Eligibility has deliberately been left quite broad, so if it's a road car that's 30 or more years old, there's probably a category for it.
