Premium version of the C4 is rare
Keep in mind we're talking American production figures here, but Corvette's C4 ZR-1 is a relatively rare versoin of what was then the latest-gen Corvette.
That's becaause overall Corvette sales were slow at the time and this premium version carried a massive price penalty. So only 6939 are thought to have been made.
At the heart of the ZR-1 is the high-performance LT5 V8 which has a lot of Lotus DNA in it, as Chevrolet owned the British company for a time. The quad-cam engines were initially assembled by Mercury Marine and were an alloy 5.7lt V8 rated at 375hp.

The car shown here runs the ZF six-speed manual, is priced at $62,000 and is based in SA.
