This one looks tidy

Released in February of 1986 and staying in production until the end of August, 1988, the VL Holden Commodore is a true legend of the Aussie automotive world and perhaps one of the most iconic iterations of the moniker.

The VL was the last version of the Commodore’s first generation, and succeeded the VK Commodore.

Changes made over its predecessor were mostly aesthetic, as the VL scored a heavily revised overall design aimed at making it look much more sleek and modern.

Customers could have their VL Commodore in two different body styles; a four-door sedan or a five-door wagon.

Power was derived from the venerable RB20E 3.0lt inline six-cylinder motor which could be had in either a naturally aspirated or turbocharged state, or a 5.0lt V8.

The shove from these engines was sent to the VL’s rear wheels via either a five-speed manual or a three or four-speed automatic transmission.

This particular VL is a ’88 four-door sedan and comes equipped with the naturally aspirated 3.0lt six-banger and the four-speed auto ‘box.

According to the seller, the VL has travelled a low 168,000 kilometres from new and presents in very tidy, original condition.

The VL is $9900 and anyone interested in this Aussie classic can view the full listing here.
