My, oh my, this looks good!
The Mk 1 Ford Capri is a two-door sportscar built by the Blue Oval between 1968 and 1974.
Assembly of the Mk 1 Capri took place at a number of Ford’s production plants including Halewood in the UK, Cologne in Germany, Port Elizabeth in South Africa, and even locally in Homebush, NSW.
Across all the Capri’s different markets there were numerous engines made available to be slotted under the two-door coupe’s bonnet.
All of these motors sent power to the Capri’s rear wheels via either a four-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission.
This particular Capri is a highly desirable and very rare 1974 RS3100 and comes equipped with a 3.0lt six-cylinder motor and four-speed manual transmission.
There were only 250 RS3100’s built by Ford to satisfy homologation regulations at the time, and only 50 RS3100s made it to Australia.
According to the seller, this RS31000 is in excellent condition and has been restored using original and NOS parts.
The Mk 1 Capri RS31000 is $87,000 and anyone interested in this weapon of a car can view the full listing here.
