This rarefied muscle is Plum Crazy!

This awesome 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T, complete with a thumping 7.0lt (426ci) Hemi V8, is heading to the auction Block at Mecums Kissimmee auction, which is set to kick off from January 5 – 14.

One of just 15 Coronet R/Ts produced in 1970, and one of only five equipped with the four-speed manual transmission, this Dodge truly is a special beast.

What’s more, according to Mecum, this is the only example ever made with the 4.10 Super Track Pack and the only example ever built for Canadian export.

Finished in stunning factory ‘Plum Crazy’ with complimenting black vinyl roof and interior, the Coronet R/T was first sold through Century Dodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The R/T comes equipped with its original steering wheel, pistol grip Hurst shifter and woodgrain gauge cluster.

Mecum also add that the vehicle had a full rotisserie restoration completed in 2010 using only new-old stock (NOS) parts and it comes with all original documentation including the broadcast sheet.

According to the auctioneers, the Coronet R/T will sell for $150,000-$175,000 US dollars, or roughly $196,000-$228,000 Aussie dollars, which, you’ve got to admit, sounds about right for what is essentially a one-of-a-kind piece of classic American muscle car history.
