This three-owner car sold with books and 138,900km on the clock. Imported from New Zealand in 2008, it featured Koni racing shocks, lightweight exhaust, Superlock LSD, half roll cage, a 968 Turbo S front splitter, adjustable rear spoiler and close-ratio motorsport gearbox.

1967 Falcon XR GT

SOLD: $140,000
Shannons, Sydney

Ford -falcon -xr -gt

The first Falcon to win Bathurst and the first ever win for a V8 at Mt Panorama, the XR GT is becoming rarer and more collectable. Available only in GT Gold the XR GT was developed in tandem as a Bathurst racer and police pursuit car.

This example featured in UC in 2013 after a ground-up resto. Offered for sale by a NSW Aussie muscle car collector, bidding was intense for the refurbed Henry, finishing well above the estimate.

1972 Holden LJ Torana GTR XU-1

SOLD: $140,000
Shannons, Sydney

Holden -torana -lj

Prices for Torana GTR XU1s of both LC and LJ Torana persuasions keep climbing and while it doesn’t have a bent-eight engine, it's still an endearing Aussie classic.

This example, in March 17 Green, was built late 1972 and according to its original books, was delivered January 1973. It has only had three owners – the last for 21 years – and
underwent an extensive resto in 2002. It was sold showing 106,150 miles on the clock.

On the block:

1976 Cadillac Eldorado Bicentennial Edition
