While the Volkswagen Beetle is a genuine motoring icon, when its name is bandied about most people smile and say, "I remember seeing it in one of the many Herbie movies," that entertained generations.

Known as the peoples car, the it was cheap to buy and run thanks to its basic engineering and durability. It offered plenty of room for four and a bit of luggage as well.

This clean and original 1967 example, with a 1300cc flat-four engine, four-speed gearbox, drum brakes and rear swing axle is one of the last examples to be made at VW's Clayton factory.

Built using 95 per cent of Australian components, this model retained the smaller rear window introduced in 1958, rather than the larger rear glass from the European beetles from 1965 onward.

This stunner is finished in Java green and features cream upholstery, chrome trimmings and whitewall tyres. It also has a VW All Transistor radio, fuel gauge and fold down rear seats for extra storage this lovely Deluxe has it all. See the listing here.
