Some good buys at Lloyds today
A beautifully presented VL Commodore Group A SS Walkinshaw (lot 116) today fetched a strong $101,000 at Lloyds in Queensland.
There were some solid buys, such as a 1976 Ford XB Falcon sedan (lot 89) with 302 V8 and auto that went for $26,500 - a fair result for both seller and buyer.
A stunning show winner 1970 Ford Cortina 66A GTL (lot 90) went for a very respectable $33,000. Good money for this car, and the four-cylinder manual was probably the best you'll ever see.
As for the cars we previewed earlier today, it wasn't the right day for the Shelby Mustang Fastback - maybe the AFL grand final was a distraction; the 450 SL Benz scored a top bid of $23,500 and is also under negotiation; the Valiant VF sedan and Wayfarer ute both sold and went for $9500 and $6200 respectively.
