Gaydon firm comes to the Goodwood Revival

The simply awesome Goodwood Revival is happening this weekend, the 8-10 of September, and as usual, the event will be an opportunity for auto marques to show off their best models, both new and old.

British sports car maker Aston Martin will be in strong force at the excellent event, showcasing the new V8-powered DB11 and V8 Vantage AMR.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer will also be displaying his personal 1980 V8 Vantage, which he purchased in 2015 from the manufacturers heritage division, Aston Martin Works.

"I admired that car throughout my teenage years," said Palmer. "After going through the pain of realising it was well out of my reach when I passed my driving test in 1980, to be able to buy it now feels great and it is a rare privilege to be able to take it to the Goodwood Revival to show it off."

Aston will also be showing off a beautiful example of their legendary DBR1 race car. Only five of these gorgeous racers were ever produced, and the first one ever built was recently sold at auction in Pebble Beach for an unbelievable US$22.5 million, or roughly $28.1 million Aussie dollars.

There’s plenty more action happening this weekend at the Goodwood Revival, including fabled races such as the St Marys Trophy and the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration, which sees multi-million dollar race cars of yesteryear swap paint on the hallowed Goodwood racetrack.
