It may be a recreation, but when it looks this good, do you care?

The Holden Torana LX is the second iteration of the third generation of one of the most iconic automotive monikers in Australia.

Replacing the outgoing LH, the LX was built between 1976 and 1978, and cosmetically, was nothing more than a minor styling update.

However, big changes were made to the LXs range of powertrains as a result of new ADR regulations aimed at lowering emissions.

Because of this, the Torana’s 2.85lt and 3.3lt inline six-cylinder and 4.2lt and 5.0lt V8 all had to sacrifice about 20kW each.

The shove from these handicapped donks was sent to the rear wheels via either a three-speed automatic or a four-speed manual transmission.

This particular LX started life as an LX SL/R complete with four-speed manual and 4.2lt V8, but has since been turned into a faithful recreation of an L34.

The seller says the vehicle is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically and adds that the 5.0lt V8 now found under the bonnet is in perfect running order.

The Torana is $45,000 and anyone interested in this great looking Aussie muscle car can view the full listing here.
