Big bucks for XY Falcon GT at Lloyds

Bent-eight Blue Ovals dominate auction

This Ford Falcon XY GT pulled $225,000 at auction.

Lloyds Classic, Muscle and Barn Find auction yesterday was always going to be a must see, with a plethora of excellent Aussie Muscle and some lovely Italian classics up for grabs.

There were a number of high prices achieved, and you can read the all the results below, however weve got to mention the $225,000 bid for the gorgeous and pristine 1971 Falcon XY GT.

Lloyds described the XY as being in showroom condition and obviously the punters agreed, as there was a multitude of bidding action on the Vermillion Fire GT before the final bid was achieved.

What's even more interesting is that the $225,000 didn't actually secure the vehicle, and the buyer and seller are now in negotiations, so that price tag is probably set to rise even further.

Other noteworthy mentions included the 1970 Candy Apple Red XW GT that achieved a $127,000 winning bid, the 1987 Ferrari Testarossa, which ended up at $175,000 and a 1973 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 2+2 stood at $98,000 when the gavel was struck.
