Aston’s next baby supercar caught in near production spec

Aston Martin’s new Vantage has been photographed in what is believed to be near production-ready form.

The Vantage, although heavily camouflaged, appears to have taken far more design cues from its movie star sibling, the DB10, rather than its bigger brother, the DB11.

The new Vantage will come equipped with a Mercedes-AMG derived 4.0lt, twin-turbocharged V8 that is rumoured to produce around 370kW.

That power from the Affalterbach donk will be sent to the rear wheels via either a paddle-shifting dual-clutch transmission or, praise the driving gods, a manual transmission.

Performance figures are obviously yet to be confirmed, however some pundits reckon that the new baby Aston will be chasing a naught to 100km/h time of less than four seconds and a top speed of more than 300km/h.

The new Vantage will also eventually be made available with the 5.2lt, twin-turbocharged V12 currently found in the DB11.

There’s no official word when or where the new Vantage will be unveiled, but Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer has previously stated that the vehicle will be unveiled before the end of 2017.
