This one looks very clean

The HZ Kingswood is the fourth iteration of the second generation of the Aussie built icon and is the penultimate model in the Kingswood range.

The HZ was first unveiled in October 1977, and stayed in production until 1980, at which point it was replaced by the WB.

Stylistically, the HZ received minor aesthetic tweaks to its exterior, but for the most part it looked largely the same as its predecessor, the HX.

However, mechanically the HZ brought with it a major update in the dynamics department thanks to ‘Radial Tuned Suspension’ across all examples of the model range.

The HZ Kingswood could be had in a number of different body styles that included a four-door sedan, four-door wagon, two-door panel van and a two-door ute.

There were three levels of trim spec that the HZ Kingswood could be optioned in: the base Kingswood, the Kingswood SL and the Premier.

Power came from a choice of either a 3.3lt inline-six, 4.2lt V8 or a 5.0lt V8, and the shove from these engines was sent to the rear wheels via a number of different gearboxes that included a three-speed column shift manual, four-on-the-floor manual or a three-speed automatic transmission.

This particular HZ Kingswood is a ’78 wagon with the 3.3lt inline-six and three-speed column shift manual.

According to the seller, the vehicle is in excellent, original condition and has been very well cared for over the years.

The HZ wagon is $15,000 and anyone interested in this Aussie classic can view the full listing here.
