When was the last time you saw one of these?
The Datsun 260C, known in its local market at the Datsun Cedric, was a medium sized family car built in Tochigi, Japan.
The fourth generation of the vehicle was built between 1976 and 1979, and it was made available to customers in a number of different body styles including a four-door sedan, five-door wagon and a two-door hardtop coupe.
Engine choices globally were varied, and comprised a 2.0lt inline four-cylinder, 2.0lt, 2.6lt and 2.8lt inline six-cylinder and 2.0lt and 2.0lt inline four-cylinder diesel motor. However, local market cars only ever got the 2.6lt inline six.
Power from these engines was sent to the 260Cs rear wheels via either a three-speed automatic or a four or five-speed manual, although once again 260Cs destined for the Australian market only got the three-speed auto and the four-speed manual, not the five-speed.
This particular 260C is a ’76 hardtop coupe model with the three-speed automatic transmission.
According to the seller, the vehicle has travelled an original 202,000 kilometres from new and is a one owner vehicle in excellent condition.
The 260C is $25,000 and anyone interested in this classic Japanese hardtop coupe can view the full listing here.
