2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 – Today’s Three-Pedal Tempter
Just about perfect?
The Porsche Cayman GT4 is, in the eyes of many, one of the best modern sports cars of our time.
The GT4 is the amalgamation of a standard Cayman that has been heavily fettled by Porsche’s legendary GT department.
It also bucked a pretty serious trend that was happening with all Porsches GT cars at the time; it was only offered with a six-speed manual.
That may not sound so profound but, until its release, Porsche looked determined to only produce double-clutch (PDK) equipped cars that bore the GT badge, as made evident by the 991 GT3 and GT3 RS.
Power came from a mid-mounted, slightly detuned version of the 911 Carrera S’s 3.8lt flat-six donk that produced a very healthy 283kW and 420Nm.
In addition, the Cayman borrowed the front suspension from its older brother, the GT3, while the rear suspension was entirely bespoke to the GT4.
The GT4 also stole the GT3’s large six-pot calipers up front and four-pot calipers at the rear, while tyre widths were enlarged to a 245/35 front and a 295/30 rear.
Performance figures were very impressive, with 0-100km/h taking the Cayman just 4.4 seconds before powering on to a top speed of 295km/h.
This GT4 is finished in gorgeous ‘Sapphire Blue’ and has a mere 7600 kilometres on the clock from new.
The seller is asking $189,990 and anyone interested in one of the best sports cars of the last decade can view the full listing here.
