Big power, small price

The Ford Falcon XR6 Turbo is unquestionably one of Australia’s iconic cars and it challenged the convention that a modern Aussie muscle car had to have a V8 slapped in the engine bay.

We are of course talking about the Blue Oval’s herculean Barra engine range. Built in Geelong, Victoria, the Barra surely has to be one of, if not the greatest, home-grown powerplants.

The one found in this XR6 Turbo is a Barra 240T, which was produced between 2002 and 2005. The 4.0lt turbocharged inline-six pumped out 240kW and 450Nm.

This oomph could be mated to either the four-speed BTR M95LE automatic transmission or five-speed BTR T5Z manual transmission.

This particular XR6 Turbo has had, like most others, some modifications made to it to unleash the Barra’s performance potential.

According to the seller, it has had an SCT Flash, upgraded Bosch injectors, upgraded intercooler, upgraded air intake and X-Force dual exhaust system.

In addition, the seller also adds that a number of visual enhancements have been made to the car, including a genuine resprayed boot with spoiler delete, XR8 bonnet and a set of BF GT 19-inch alloy wheels.

The seller is asking $10,000 for this Aussie-made weapon, and anyone interested can view the full listing here.
