Big green ute for not much green

The WB Holden was produced from May 1980 to 1984. Replacing the HZ, it was essentially a face-lifted version of its predecessor.

However, the WB was the last of its kind. After it ceased Holden instead focussed on the Commodore moving forward.

The commercial models of the WB range comprised a two-door cab chassis, ute and panel van.

The ute could either be had in basic spec or a more upmarket Kingswod. The cab chassis version of the WB was referred to as a one-tonner.

There were two engine choices available: a 3.3lt inline 6-cylinder and a 4.2lt V8.

However, the WB’s predecessor, the HZ, was also available with a 5.0lt V8 in addition to the two aforementioned engines and, apparently at special request, customers could still option the 5.0lt donk for the their new WB.

These engines could be mated to either a three-speed column-shift manual, four-on-the-floor manual and a three-speed automatic transmission.

This particular WB is a 1980 and, judging by the photos, appears to be in good, original condition.

It features the 3.3lt blue motor and is mated to the three-speed column-shift.

According to the seller, the vehicle has travelled a low 152,000 kilometres from new and has only had two owners since it rolled off the production line.

The seller is asking $12,500 for the WB and anyone interested can view the full listing here.
