The former Bob Morris 1979 championship-winning Torana A9X touring car this afternoon went under the hammer for $600,000 at Mossgreen's Sydney auction. That adds up to a hefty $744,000 including buyer premium.
An identical top bid won a NSW two-digit numberplate, number 36.
Several high-profile lots, such as an Aston Martin DB5 (which should fetch the highest price for the day at over a million) didn't quite make reserve during the event, though it's likely they'll find new owners after further negotiation.
