They definitely don’t make them like this anymore

The Aussie made Ford Falcon XT was produced for fewer than two years from March 1968 to June 1969. Nevertheless, in that short period of time approximately 79,290 XTs made it off the production line.

The XT came in a number of different body styles that included a sedan, wagon, panel van and a ute.

The highest level of trim spec for the XT was the Fairmont, which came in either sedan or wagon guise.

Being the luxury variant of the Falcon, Ford had a desire to differentiate the Fairmont from its more regular counterparts, and as a result, the Fairmont bore no Falcon badging at all and was not referred to as a Falcon in any form of marketing or advertorial.

The opulent Fairmont got standard equipment such as: bucket seats, front disc brakes, a heater and demister, wood grain dash, carpet and courtesy lamps in all four doors. In addition, the wagon variant of the Fairmont also got a power window tailgate.

This particular Fairmont is a lovely looking ’68 wagon, which, according to the seller, has had a full restoration approximately six years ago.

The owner also states that the vehicle has an astonishingly low 45,000 miles on the clock, which is deeply impressive.

Other features of this Fairmont include the original dash, original wheels, a new stereo and speakers, deluxe purple velour interior and a functioning power window tailgate.

The seller is asking $16,500 and if you’re keen on this classic wagon cruiser then you can check out the full listing here
