Lloyds springs a couple of nice GTs, including a one-owner

In a perfect world we'd be able to build up a nice collection of Falcon GTs, starting with the XR and rolling all the way through several generations to the close of manufacturer last year. Okay, strictly speaking there were some gaps, but you get the idea.

On offer at Lloyds tomorrow are two cars: an XT from 1968 (lot 60) and an XW (lot 63A) from the following year.

For some reason you don't see all that many XT GTs pop up on the market, and this looks fairly faithful to what came out of the showroom. We're told the original 302 V8 has been hauled out, put aside and kept, and replaced with a 351 Windsor. That's feeding a four-speed top-loader transmission.

We're told the resto was done around a decade ago.

Meanwhile the XW is a bit special because it's said to be a one-owner car. It's also running a 351 with a top-loader, which is the package to have. It's been tidied up over the years and was originally sold by Anderson Ford in Adelaide.

Bidding has begun on both cars and finishes at tomorrow's live event.
