Original production of the hybrid 949hp LaFerrari hypercar was limited to 499 coupés. In August, Ferrari announced that it would build one additional example to be auctioned for charity. This car, the last LaFerrari coupé to leave the Maranello factory, was auctioned to help the reconstruction in central Italy in the aftermath of this year’s devastating earthquakes. $7m US greenbacks and the most expensive 21st century car ever sold at auction? Forza Ferrari indeed.

Prices for BMW’s crazy clown shoe are taking off, with tidy examples comfortably edging into six figure territory. Limited supply in Australia means that we’ve always paid more, but good cars are fetching serious money even in the UK. We never got the later S54 engine, and this pristine 11,000-mile car is one of only 165 in right-hand drive. It's the ultimate iteration of the Z3MC, a car that had modern classic written all over it from day one.
