Lexus debuts the world’s first customised LC 500 at the 2016 SEMA show in Las Vegas

Joining the list of tuner cars to be unveiled at SEMA 2016 is Lexus’ new customised LC 500. The car was created by Gordon Ting from Beyond Marketing, and is said to be the world’s first of its kind.

The project started with an early development prototype a year before the production model hit the market, with zero accessory and aftermarket support at the designer’s disposal. This meant that Ting and his team at Beyond Marketing had to develop the body kit, performance suspension and brake kits from the ground up. Lexus says these parts could be available to the public sometime next year.

The modified LC 500 made its public debut at SEMA last week, showing off its aerodynamic body work — upgraded suspension, Brembo brakes, 22" wheels and a new interior executed by Evasive Motorsports. Under the bonnet is an upgraded version of Lexus’ 5.0-litre V8, which has been increased in displacement to 5.6-litres, allowing the coupe to make 386kW of power.

"The LC 500 looks beautiful and has a fantastic foundation of performance and driving characteristics," said Gordon Ting, Beyond Marketing. "I wanted to use that groundwork to develop a high-performance, aggressive-looking LC 500 that is tough yet luxurious, and has serious chops thanks to the custom engine."

The LC 500’s body is wrapped in Avery Dennison Gloss Yellow vinyl and is littered with aerodynamic upgrades including custom fender flares, front and rear diffusers, side skirts and a rear wing. Handling is improved with KW Suspension that features a hydraulic lift system with height adjustable springs.
