Texan property yields treasure trove of muscle cars and exotics

It’s a bit of a revhead fantasy, to peer through the rotting door of an old garage and catch a glimpse of row after row of exotic cars that clearly haven’t been touched in decades. As improbable as it sounds, this really does happen, as these shots from a property in Texas which came to light this week clearly prove.

We’d love to know a little more of the backstory behind how these cars came to be here and maybe that will emerge in the next few days, but for the time being we’ve just got a handful of photos to do a bit of detective work. We can make out three Lamborghini Countachs and the ultra-rare Porsche 911 Speedster has just 41 miles registered. There also look to be a couple of Pontiac GTOS, a 1959 Cadillac, a Lamborghini Espada and a whole host of other weird and wonderful bits and pieces including a Beetle and a Ferrari 412.

The Shelby GT 500 was reportedly commissioned by Carroll Shelby himself, although the car has clearly seen better days and there’s a few litres of fresh air where its 428ci donk ought to sit. No doubt speculators will be doing all manner of amateur detective work trying to zero in on this location with some laser-guided lowballs, but if you’re going all that way, do us a favour. Donate a few sheets to cover those damn things.
