Motorclassica will feature a special Bugatti display worth in excess of $15 million this year, when the event opens at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building across the October 23 - 25 weekend.

The display will mark the 50th anniversary of the Bugatti Club of Australia, highlighting the history of the marque with at least 15 historical and rare cars planned.

Showcasing a full progression of Bugatti models from 1910 to 1939, the featured display will include seven Grand Prix cars, plus a rare ex-Hope Bartlett and Bill Thompson Type 43, on public show for the first time in 40 years.

There will also be a barn-find Bugatti Type 37 which will be presented in as-found condition, plus a Holden-engined model which was converted in the 1950s.

A highlight of the Bugatti display will be the art-deco styled Type 57C Atalante, which organisers expect could be a contender for the most popular car of the show.

Event director, Paul Mathers, said, "Bugatti's place in the history of the automobile is unquestioned and its cars are among the rarest and most desirable on the planet."

"It's great to have such a strong collection of cars at Motorclassica and to be able to share the Australian Bugatti Club's 50 year celebration in a way everyone can enjoy," he adds.

Other features of this year's Motorclassica include a celebration of 50 years of the supercar display, the Australian International Concours d’Elegance, plus the annual Collector Car & Memorabilia Auction conducted by Theodore Bruce.

Now in its sixth year, Motorclassica opens to the public on Friday October 23. For more event and ticket information, visit the website www.motorclassica.com.au
