V8s sold out
Morgan’s recently-updated V6 Roadster has taken over as the company performance flagship, now that the V8s – namely the Plus 8 and Aero 8 – are finished.
According to local importer Chris van Wyk, “These highly collectable models are now sold out and will not be replaced as the V8 engine no longer meets current emissions standards.
“It appears that these Morgans were the last of the naturally aspirated V8 Morgan models, ever!”
That should not represent too much of a hardship, however, as the six runs fairly solid specs: some 280 horses from the Ford Cyclone 3.7lt engine, powering a car that weighs under a tonne.
The specs have recently been upgraded to include a five-link rear end and limited-slip diff.
Pricing is $145k, plus ORC.
Morgan tells us there are some more upmarket models in the wings, which we should get to see at least in prototype form much later in 2019, the company’s 110th anniversary.
