Mercedes-Benz to star at Goodwood 2014
For 2014, Mercedes-Benz has been announced as the featured marque and will be the subject of Gerry Judah’s famous centrepiece sculpture, which will house several Merc racers.
To help celebrate 120 years in motorsport, Mercedes-Benz has revealed its intent to bring two of its pre-war stars – a W125 and W165 – to the hillclimb, along with the 1914 GP car which won the French Grand Prix that year-Mercedes’ first win.
Fans of more modern machinery will be thrilled by a CLK GTR sportscar from the Mark Webber era and a 2004 McLaren-Mercedes MP4-19 from then-designer Adrian Newey’s private collection.
Lord March will host the Festival of Speed from 26-29th of June 2014.
